The Route of The Maya, 2011

The past several weeks have come and gone and my sending this blog out to all of you is only one way of my showing such great appreciation for all that you have given me during the flowing time.

I do not see it as my blog; only as our blog. Even though to access it to make a new entry you will need to go to the site (blogspot.com) and enter my email address: scottsherman39@gmail.com, followed by my password (windeagle14). One on the site go to New Post and have at it. If you are stymied don't hesitate to check in with me (cell 707-845-6124) or email. Together we can sort it out.

This site is a place to enter memories, photos, insights, desires, or to just stay in touch.

As this is the launching of the site I thought it would be good to start with some words and photos about how we started.

Judy and Ron have hosted our "familia" on a number of journeys; it seems each one more spectacular than the last. That certainly holds true for this venture. Here they are enjoying a meal to themselves in Flores, if I am not mistaken.

Carlos Vivar!

I picked this image as his pure spontaneous joy was seen a number of times, other than when galloping away. On the ariel ride, when spotting birds, on sharing his love for his passion, to name a few others.

What a wonderful guide and person. To be introduced to the Mayan Route by a Mayan who has such depth and breadth of experience in that world, the world that holds so much mystery, allure and meaning in this time in history.

Personally what I thought I knew about the Mayans and the Mayan Calendar was set very straight by his consumate knowledge and the rich experiences he so skillfully guided us through.

Did anyone else seem to be in some kind of smooth current of flowing magic during the two weeks?

And, to come home and receive his email with our email list and a list of books to further my (our) knowledge on the subject.

Our first Mayan Site, Copan was indeed a must see. The stone carvings were superior.

And on and on.

  1. A start. Questions? Let me know. It is not too difficult, after all, I am able to do so.
