What a crew.
Thought I would list who came along and show some of my photos. Anyone else have some good shots please feel free to enter them.
There is nothing sacred about how I do this. Dive in!
About us: Lets start with Judy.
What a wonderful and beautiful sister is mine.
And, how fortunate she and we are that she married Ron, so many eons ago. At least, it must be eons in terms of how many miles the two of them have clocked around the world. Don't even know what other worlds they have visited. Could be many.
Then there is my esteemed older brother. Curt, what a wonderful older brother you are growing up to be . . . or, is it that I am finally growing up to appreciate what a wonderful older brother you have always been?
(Sorry about the fuzzy picture here Curt. Anybody have a better one?)
I guess next in line in terms of age would be me.
One is all you get of me as I was behind the camera. Again, someone else will need to enter a shot (or two).
Next to me, of course is Joanne; although would be a toss up in terms of family ties. Lets see, Sandy or Mark . . . or, Michael?
Lets stay with Joanne. Of all of us she was on the ruins like kids on candy. Good old archeologist training and experience:
Ok, how about Sandy. And, why not include Greg in these photos.
That person behind the elephant ear plant is Greg.
And, here, Sandy is dancing up a storm with Carlos.
Next, in some kind of logic or another, we have Frieda and Mark.
Couldn't pass this photo of Frieda and Sandy hugging. Loved the Familia Hugs!
Here are a few of Michael.
Glenn and Carol joined us and we all had much fun with them. Some photos of them:
Caught photos of Glenn a number of times. Seems he and I were clicking away at about the same time in about the same places. My guess is that of all of us between Glenn and I we have more photos than the rest of you combined.
Chuck figures in the above photos as does Karen. It was a real pleasure having these for "adoptees" as part of our Familia. They fit right in and we all seemed to enjoy being with them in one setting or another.
One last photo: Who could forget Fernando.
He sure took good care of us on the road, as did Carlos on the whole trip.
My, did he deserve a day off in the hammock. "Turista" seems to not only effect turists.
Well, enough for now, my garden and other household duties call.
Oh, I didn't forget Carlos.
Next entry is "All about Carlos." To be followed by photos of each day.
Please help me out here folks; my life is calling me.

The Route of The Maya, 2011
The past several weeks have come and gone and my sending this blog out to all of you is only one way of my showing such great appreciation for all that you have given me during the flowing time.
I do not see it as my blog; only as our blog. Even though to access it to make a new entry you will need to go to the site (blogspot.com) and enter my email address: scottsherman39@gmail.com, followed by my password (windeagle14). One on the site go to New Post and have at it. If you are stymied don't hesitate to check in with me (cell 707-845-6124) or email. Together we can sort it out.
This site is a place to enter memories, photos, insights, desires, or to just stay in touch.
As this is the launching of the site I thought it would be good to start with some words and photos about how we started.
Judy and Ron have hosted our "familia" on a number of journeys; it seems each one more spectacular than the last. That certainly holds true for this venture. Here they are enjoying a meal to themselves in Flores, if I am not mistaken.
Carlos Vivar!
I picked this image as his pure spontaneous joy was seen a number of times, other than when galloping away. On the ariel ride, when spotting birds, on sharing his love for his passion, to name a few others.
What a wonderful guide and person. To be introduced to the Mayan Route by a Mayan who has such depth and breadth of experience in that world, the world that holds so much mystery, allure and meaning in this time in history.
Personally what I thought I knew about the Mayans and the Mayan Calendar was set very straight by his consumate knowledge and the rich experiences he so skillfully guided us through.
Did anyone else seem to be in some kind of smooth current of flowing magic during the two weeks?
And, to come home and receive his email with our email list and a list of books to further my (our) knowledge on the subject.
Our first Mayan Site, Copan was indeed a must see. The stone carvings were superior.
And on and on.
